amyAmy Donnelly Ashby concentrates on business immigration resolving legal issues on behalf of clients with foreign consulates and embassies, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS), the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Consulates, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Transportation Security Administration and the U.S. Coast Guard.  In addition, she has successfully represented clients in their efforts to obtain nonimmigrant and immigrant status, Transportation Worker Identification Credential cards (TWIC), Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) employment access and U.S. citizenship.  Mrs. Ashby has assisted clients in establishing Form I-9 and H-1B compliance policies and procedures and successfully represented clients during audits and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) investigations.

Mrs. Ashby is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts.  She lived in Asia and Europe for fourteen years and also lived in Montevideo, Uruguay for three years, while her husband was the United States Ambassador to the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.  She was the President of the Diplomatic Wives Club in Montevideo and Co-President, with the British Ambassador’s wife, of the British American Hospital.  In 1998, she hosted the Vital Voices Conference, the third international conference on the role of women in society, continuing the work of previous conferences held in Beijing, China, Vienna, Austria and Belfast, Northern Ireland.

She earned her J.D. degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas.  At South Texas College of Law, she participated in seminars sponsored by the Judge Frank Evans Center on Cross Cultural Conflict Resolution.  Mrs. Ashby also received a Diploma de Estudios Hispanicos from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain.  She attended Trinity College in Washington, DC and earned her B.A. in history from the University of Houston where she received the Amos C. Miller Award for achieving the highest grade point average in the History Department.

Mrs. Ashby is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.  She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Tahirih Justice Center’s Houston Advisory Council and the Houston, TX Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Immigration and Refugee Affairs.

She is conversant in Spanish, having lived in Spanish speaking countries for over fourteen years.

Mrs. Nguyen is an experienced Immigration attorney who has devoted her career to employment-based and family-based Immigration, and Naturalization/US Citizenship. She provides innovative Immigration solutions to families and to companies and their employees in the oil and gas, engineering, healthcare, information technology, telecommunications, industrial services and manufacturing industries.

She successfully handled a wide variety of complex immigration cases including extraordinary ability, national interest waiver, complex adjustment of status cases during removal proceedings, removal defense, nonimmigrant and immigrant consular processing, naturalization cases and many others.

Having arrived in Canada as a refugee and later immigrating to the United States as a business woman, Mrs. Nguyen has first-hand knowledge of the hardships and challenges facing foreign nationals attempting to obtain immigration benefits. These experiences, in addition to her dedicated advocacy for the immigration community, provide her with a unique perspective and exceptional knowledge to assist both individuals and corporate clients.

Mrs. Nguyen is licensed by the Supreme Court of Texas and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Her professional activities and memberships include the State Bar of Texas, Texas Young Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Houston Bar Association.

Ms. Nguyen is fluent in Vietnamese.

ajayAjay Choudhary Mr. Ajay Choudhary is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Specialization. He specializes in wrongful termination, employment discrimination, non-compete violations and collective bargaining negotiation cases. In addition, he has extensive experience litigating employment cases in state and federal courts as well as representing clients in administrative proceedings before government agencies, such as the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state human rights agencies and the federal and state Departments of Labor.

Mr. Choudhary also has extensive experience representing clients in immigration courts, including complex removal cases involving criminal convictions, cancellation of removal and detention issues.

Mr. Choudhary graduated from the University of California Berkley with a double major in three years. He then received a scholarship to Southern Methodist University’s law school and graduated with J.D. degree in 1997. He has been a speaker at immigration seminars and taught employment law at the People’s Law School at the University of Houston.
